My name is Danielle and I am the owner and creator of Munchkin Minders fun & creative sitters and nannies! I am a 48 year old mother of two teenage boys. Almost 17 and 15 years now...what? I have been married to my wonderful husband for almost 27 years! We are a happy, busy and active family with lots of pets! I personally love hiking, traveling, yoga, animals and food, you name it, cooking, baking and eating. :) Recently we took our boys to Iceland, Sweden, Denmark, France, Spain and England. We all have a major travel bug and plan to do a lot more of it! It all started around 1996 when my husband and I (sans kids) were living and traveling the Mexican coastline on our sailboat. We have always loved adventure and buying a boat seemed to be a good idea at the time. After 9 years on the boat, we decided it was time to settle down (in a house) and have babies. So we did.
I started my agency when my boys were 3yrs and 5yrs looking for a way to add more money to our household income, while still being home with my kids. I grew up caring for my brothers, sisters and neighborhood kids and later was a nanny in college. I asked myself, what am I good at? Kids, of course!
My main goal with Munchkin Minders is to keep my San Diego business competitive and always growing while also building up my business in Western North Carolina. Because I have been in business for almost 12 years now, keeping motivated to build and keep current can be a challenge. Sometimes it is easier to keep things as they are, but I always need to keep up with the times, technology, etc. Pair Up helps me by handling all the scheduling for my on-call sitter business, therefore freeing up my time to focus on all the other work that Munchkin Minders handles. like Nanny placements and event childcare. Now that I don't have to do all the tedious work with scheduling, I can also concentrate on hiring, marketing, billing and spending more time with my family.
